Humanity Psychosocial Pressures

In the previous topic, the ethical controls for society, found within the Purpose Domain (RL6), were examined in terms of the operative pressures. Now, the ethical controls for humanity, found within the Tertiary Hierarchy of the Root Domain (RH), will be examined in a similar way.

This Domain difference, Root rather than Primary, leads to a difference in psychosocial pressure because of the different forms of TET structure identified and posted in the Hub in 2009.

The disposition of pressures, as shown in the diagram at right, is assumed to be a function of the deeper nature of the Spiral trajectory and therefore independent of the particular pattern of Type≡Mode correspondence.

Although the Tertiary Hierarchy is emanated from Type-6 in both Domains, Type-6 in the two Tertiary Hierarchies corresponds with different Modes within the Spiral. As a result, Type-6 is associated with different psychosocial pressures.

Humanity Controls

The Will Domain is subject to Survival as its principal pressure.

The Tertiary Hierarchy of Primal Injunctions-RH"6 arises from the RH'L6-Obedience Primal Quest. The Root Domain has its Root Typology TET constructed differently, as shown above right. It is evident that in this case Type-6 corresponds with Mode-6. That, in turn, means that it is subject to the Well-Being pressure.

The Primal Injunctions form a Tree-RH"K that specifies Communal Betterment. However, there is no Spiral involved. Each Primal Injunction derives from a correspondingly numbered Primal Quest (i.e. L"1 ≡ L'1, L"2 ≡ L'2 etc). As with L'6-Obedience, the relevant pressures can be determined from the Spiral.

Check for yourself. But, to help you see it all together in one place, the correspondences are shown in this Table:

Formula L": Primal
Injunction
L': Primal Quest Spiral Position Psychosocial Pressure
7 See Unity Spirituality Mode-7 Acceptability
6 Heed What's Right Obedience Mode-6 Well-Being
5 Do Your Best Creation Mode-1 Performance
4 Care about Others Salvation Mode-3 Understanding
3 Become Aware Enlightenment Mode-4 Autonomy
2 Hold Ideals Meaning Mode-2 Selflessness
1 Get Enjoyment Pleasure Mode-5 Certainty

Confused?Closed Reference to the Spiral is a bit confusing because it does not exist in relation to the Primal Injunctions. The Spiral is evoked in order to assign pressures to the Quests with which the Injunctions have a correspondence. It is presumed that the Injunction will have the same pressure as the corresponding Quest. The Spiral-Mode order is irrelevant to this study.

Humane Ethical Vehicle

RH"K: Communal Betterment is Humanity's Ethical Vehicle and it appears to be subject to the same (unexpected) pattern of pressures as the Societal Vehicle.

With regard to the internal duality, there is the identical pressure division found in the Control Field of the Domain Control Complex. In other words, this vehicle is akin to a field and sports a division of pressures into Responsibility v Integration sets. However, the order of the pressures in each set is slightly different.

Responsibilities generate Inner Goodness.

The layout of the iD-Content is shown below.  Two remain in the same position, while there is the same swap between Understanding and Certainty.

KL1 Autonomy Autonomy

ClosedDetailed Analysis

The foundation of the Tree involves getting enjoyment-KL1B which is under a pressure for autonomy (subject to well-being as are all other levels due to nesting within Obedience Quest RH'6L6).

In other words, a person's humanity is grounded on enjoying themselves in their own preferred way.

Ideals are necessary for both personal or social progress and holding ideals-KL2B occurs under a pressure for certainty. This is what allows us to maintain ideals in the face of cynicism or opposition—and to drop them when the situation is unfavourable and pursuit would only cause pain and self-damage.

Becoming self-aware-KL3P and grasping situations-KL3S are subject to a performance pressure, which means we have to use our awareness to ensure practical benefits.

Finally, caring about others-KL4B is subject to a pressure for understanding, without which care cannot be exercised or realized.

Implications

The pressure for autonomy can lead to sacrifice or a neglect of survival issues.

Integration generates Outer Demands

The layout of the iD-Context is shown below.  Acceptability remains in the same KL5 position, while there is a swap between Well-Being and Selflessness.

Humanity's Ethical Effect

Primal injunctions (RH") are disembodied authoritative commandments that promote goodness. The combinations that generate a structural hierarchy lead to additional precepts. People need to accommodate these as they go about their everyday life. If they do, then they generate goodness (RsH").

A detailed account of the structural hierarchy is posted here, after the account of the RH"K-originating Tree and before the account of the RsH"K final Tree.

Humane Ethical Field

The RsH"K Tree constructed here reveals Personal Betterment, which is Humanity's Ethical Field. Click on thumbnail to see.

The psychosocial pressures have reverted to the pattern found in the Primal Field because it is assumed that all structural hierarchies (and therefore the Trees that emerge from them) are subject to an identical pattern of pressures.

So the iD pattern is Responsibility v Integration in both cases, as follows:

The iD Content of the Tree is about Outer Demands: the use of ultimate values, the drawing on inner strength, the requirement to handle pain and suffering and to build character. These are, not surprisingly, under Responsibility Pressures.

The iD Context of the Tree is about Highest Ideals: contentment, proving yourself and great dreams. These are, not surprisingly, under Integration Pressures.

Considering both Trees together, the pattern that has been developed here is shown below:
